Have you ever...

made a mistake that 8000 people know about?

I just did.

Did you breach the 'law of large numbers' by doling out some confidential information?

What is it? I am curious :D

@ sane insane - nope... didn't spill out any confidential information....good lord...I sure am more ethical that that. :)

Can I risk you being # 8001 to know this? lol

I recently became the editor/publisher of a weekly newsletter that goes out to 8000 employees across India and the States and it was my first issue this week. I worked day and night to get it perfect, but due to some confusion in the last moment, one important link in the newsletter got mixed up. Thanks to my luck, the article with the wrong link belonged to a super important client...so being the perfectionist I am and the amount of work I put...you can imagine how I feel when my boss messages me two minutes after the newsletter goes out that a link is missing and that we need to do damage control immediately.

This job is really teaching me a lot.

I had thought of that angle as well and thatswhy I had mentioned the 'law of large numbers' in my comment.

Actually 'mistake that 8000 people know about..' is a phrase used for some kinda goof-ups like info leak, typos, miss-info/missing info. Am I right Ms. editor?
